After 53-man roster cuts Saturday, the Jets on Sunday are establishing their 10-man practice squad, beginning at 1 p.m. That follows the finalizing of waiver claims at noon. Let's take a look at how the Jets' initial practice squad is shaping up, as they prepare for their Week 1 game at the Lions.

Practice squad players are generally younger players who — in many, but not all cases — were with the Jets in training camp and then were waived during cutdown weekend. A player in this situation must pass through waivers unclaimed before a team (and not just his most recent team) can add him to its practice squad.
WERE JETS AWARDED ANY WAIVER PLAYERS?
No, they were not. The Jets are sixth in the waiver claim order currently, since that is their original draft slot. The Jets did not even make any waiver claims. So they are sticking with their 53-man roster for now, though they can still add some more experienced players (currently free agents) who were subject to waivers.
The Jets drafted the wide receiver in Round 4 last year, but he did very little for them, and they cut him Saturday. The Patriots then claimed him off waivers Sunday.
